Stitched together in post production, the clips create some impressive 48K 360-degree footage. To test and demonstrate the setup, Sony recorded various winter sports scenes at the Rise Ski & Snowboard Festival in Les Deux Alpes. Read more |

The design uses two camera modules, one with a wide-angle lens and another with a longer focal length. Without a color filter array, the 24MP CMOS sensor doesn't lose sharpness through interpolation, much like a Merrill-generation Foveon sensor or Pentax's pixel shift mode found in the K-3 II.
