Welcome to the 609th Digital Photography Review newsletter. With summer almost upon us, we're working hard to finish some major reviews, and you can read our in-depth treatment of the Canon EOS 80D below. This week also saw delivery (finally!) of a Nikon D500 to our Seattle office and just this morning a Sony RX10 III plopped onto the welcome mat, too. Look out for samples and analysis on both cameras very soon - and in the meantime, feast your eyes on the D500's impressive studio results (see link below).Canon catches up: Canon EOS 80D in-depth review The Canon EOS 80D is Canon's latest enthusiast-focused DSLR, and one of the company's most innovative cameras yet. A new 24MP sensor offers greatly improved dynamic range and enables a highly capable Dual Pixel AF system, which transforms performance in live view and video. Is Canon catching up? Read our in-depth review of the EOS 80D to find out.Click here to read our in-depth review of the Canon EOS 80D Nikon D500 impresses in our studio At long last, a Nikon D500 has found its way into our office (thank you LensRentals!). We put the camera straight into our studio to find out what the long-awaited successor to the D300 can do. Click the links below to see how the D500 performs compared to its predecessors and peers. Click here to read more about how the D500 performs in our studio Don't worry, it'll be all-white! As regular site visitors may have noticed, DPReview has a new color scheme. We recently rolled-out a 'light' theme, in response to almost 18 years of feedback (some polite, some rather forthright, and some little short of threatening) that white text on black is too hard to read. We also increased font size and tweaked our default typeface for improved legibility across the board. After digging through (literally) hundreds of feedback emails this week about this new white theme (some complimentary, some rather rich in four-letter words, and some positively manic), I feel the need to remind some of our loyal readers of what we said in our original announcement earlier this month - the original black background isn't going anywhere. You can toggle it on or off at will, and you will continue to be able to do so. So don't worry - everything will be all-white! Unless you prefer it not to be! And to all of you who've thanked us for finally making a light theme available, you are very welcome. I've been waiting for it a long time, too. We take a look at a few trends and products that caught our eye last week at NAB 2016 in Las Vegas. Brian shared some tour stories with us in his PIX 2015 closing talk, and chatted with us again today about his experience photographing and working with Prince. We've taken a pre-production model for a spin around Puget Sound to see how it measures up. Click here to take a look at our sample images from Panasonic's new DMC-GX85 Thanks for reading!
