Welcome to the 607th Digital Photography Review newsletter. First, an apology for not sending out a newsletter last week. Richard was swamped in work on the Sony a6300, I was hand-building a kayak (more on that soon), and between us, the newsletter slipped through the cracks. Hopefully this bumper edition will make up for things. Suffice to say that a lot has happened over the past two weeks. We've reviewed some cameras, We've showcased some amazing DPReview readers, and Lytro has gone and changed things up with its futuristic new Cinema Camera platform. And there were drones! Follow those links to read more, and in the meantime, let's have a look at some recent content highlights! Sony a6300 review The Sony a6300 is the company's latest mid-range mirrorless camera. It looks a lot like the a6000 but adds 4K video, better build quality, a higher-resolution viewfinder and a host of operational improvements. How does it fare against the immediate competition and how does it stand up to its little brother? Click here to read our in-depth review of the Sony a6300 Crossing the bridge: Canon XC-10 review The Canon XC10 is a hybrid still/video camera which features a 12MP, 1"-type CMOS sensor, 24-240mm equivalent lens, 4K/UHD video capture at up to 305Mbps and a video-centric design with a fully articulating LCD. We've taken a look at both its still and video capabilities in our in-depth review. Click here to read our review of the Canon XC-10 Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX85 launched Panasonic's Lumix GX85/GX80 mirrorless cameras may be smaller and less expensive than its big brother, the GX8, but that doesn't mean that it's any less innovative. In fact, the GX85 has some impressive features that the GX8 does not. We've been busy exploring the camera and have all the details in our full launch content. Click here to read about the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX85 Hands-on with Hasseblad H6D 50c/100c Hasselblad's new H6D medium-format cameras have been redesigned 'from the ground up' and now feature 50 and 100MP sensors as well as new top shutter speeds, more connection ports, additional lenses, and even 4K video capture. Read more about the new Hasselblad H6D 50c/100c Panasonic ZS100 review We've posted our review of Panasonic's Lumix DMC-ZS100 (TZ100 outside of North America), which is the first travel zoom to sport a 1"-type sensor. Featuring a 25-250mm equivalent lens, the ZS100 also offers 4K video capture, Post Focus, an EVF and Panasonic's Depth from Defocus AF system Click here to read our review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100 Sony Cyber-shot RX10 III shooting experience A centerpiece of Sony's Cyber-shot RX10 III is its ability to capture 4K video utilizing its new 24-600mm equivalent F2.4-4 lens. We shot a lot of 4K video in addition to stills in San Francisco, and have put together a highlight reel and some first impressions on the camera. Click here to read more about what it's like to shoot with the Sony Cyber-shot RX10 III Thanks for reading! Barney | ||||||||||||||||||
